Laurence Fishburne Is Perry White

Laurence Fishburne has joined Warner Bros.' Man of Steel, set to play Daily Planet editor Perry White opposite Henry Cavill and Amy Adams.

The Perry White character first appeared in the early 1940s Superman comics as a tough but fair-minded boss with high standards.

Zack Snyder is directing from a script penned by David S. Goyer, who developed the story with Christopher Nolan.

Henry Cavill will play Superman, aka Clark Kent, with Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Michael Shannon are also starring.

Man of Steel is shooting this summer in Chicago and Vancouver.

Amy Adams will be Lois Lane in Superman

L.A. Times are reporting that red-head Amy Adams has been chosen as The Daily Planet’s top reporter and Clark Kent’s true love – the famously brunette Lois Lane in Superman: The Man of Steel.

Natalie Portman, Charlotte Riley, Anne Hathaway, Dianna Agron, Kristen Stewart, Malin Akerman, Rachel McAdams, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kristen Bell, Lake Bell, Olivia Wilde, Mila Kunis and Jessica Biel were considered to play Lois Lane.

Seems the casts is complete. But who's the villain? Where is Lex Luther?

Kevin Costner: Jonathan Kent of Superman

The Hollywood Reporter has broke the news that Kevin Costner is now officially attached to play Jonathan Kent in the June shooting Superman: The Man of Steel. Jonathan, or sometimes Pa Kent, is the adopted father of Clark, played in the new film by relatively unknown British actor Henry Cavill – and it’s about as perfect a casting as you are gonna get.

Diane Lane was announced as Martha Kent. Warner Brothers issued a statement shortly after the story broke, confirming the news….
“Jonathan Kent is the only father figure Clark has ever had, the man who was there to help Clark understand what he was meant to do in the world as Superman. Kevin will be able to communicate the quiet strength of this rural American man who raised the greatest superhero of all time.”

Diane Lane: Sexiest Martha Kent

I certainly agree with Obsessed With Films, that Diane Lane will be the Sexiest Martha Kent of all time. Who will forget her breath-taking performance in the movie, 'Unfaithful' with Richard Gere. I can't imagine how a seductive cougar will play a mom of 'The Man of Steel'. She might get attracted to her own adopted son-slash-alien. But, most likely that it won't happen because 1) it's not on the script and 2) her husband is Kevin Costner!

Warner Bros have announced today that the Oscar nominated beauty, Diane Lane, has been cast as Martha Kent in the June-shooting Superman reboot. A huge name actress and a highly impressive casting choice from Snyder, which goes alongside Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent. Noticeably Lane & Costner are closer to the age of the Smallville-era which further fuels the fire that this movie is heavily based on Kal-El’s origin.

So what do you think of Diane Lane's character?

Henry Cavill is the New Superman!

Actor Henry Cavill (Stardust, The Tudors, Immortals) has been selected by Zack Snyder and Warner Bros to play the role of Clark Kent aka Superman in the new Superman movie. A few words from Zack Snyder:

"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield."
Honestly, I'm kind of disappointed that Brandon Routh is already out to be 'Superman'. He's the perfect image that instill in my head to be my hero. Anyway, let's give Henry Cavill a chance. ;)

Superman Man of Steel Movie

Man of Steel movie - SupermanEveryone should know by now that Superman movie franchise will happen in 2012. Zack Snyder is identified to direct the movie, that will be entitled, 'Superman: Man of Steel'. Snyder has told The LA Times that he’s looked closely at Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins as a source of inspiration for the Man of Steel’s forthcoming cinematic reboot.

Chris is awesome. He’s super-respectful but super-helpful, too. You can’t imagine a more generous [collaborator],” Snyder said. “Once he sort of got what I want to do with it, he was like, ‘OK,’ and once he said, ‘You know what, that’s awesome,’ now he’s 100 percent. If I say, ‘What do you think of this?’ he’s like, ‘That’s awesome,’ and then there’s a great give-and-take about it, a great conversation that we can have about it and making it better every day.
I was wondering if Christopher Nolan will direct 'Superman' -- that we should expect Christian Bale in "S" with red cape as well, don't you think?
